Easter decorations to stimulate your creative mind

In my ongoing effort to add more holiday decorations to our home, I purchased some easter decorations! My father and I worked on this ornament together. Since the Easter eggs themselves don't sit well, he taped a small 2×2 piece to the back so they could stand on the table. He also applied a coat of primer before I brought them home to decorate; then I added a few coats of paint as my base color.

Using some painter's tape, I started adding stripes to the eggs. Since I used a small amount of acrylic craft paint, it dried quickly and I was able to finish the painting part of this project in a few hours!

After adding some stripes, I used a small paintbrush to add some dots and jagged shapes. Although each egg had a different design, I used the same four colors on each easter egg with handle because I wanted to place them on the table.

I decided that the paint alone didn't make the wooden easter egg look the way I wanted them to - so I took a black marker and added a border to the stripes and jagged shapes to make them a little more stylish.

I'm thinking this would be a fun project for the kids to make for every Easter! And a great family activity too!
