Portable baby bed

There are many ways you can transition your baby from the bassinet to the baby lounger. Remember, for some children, it's no big deal! For others, it will take time and will be a process. You need to be prepared for problems to arise and be prepared to try different things to help things go smoothly.

Here are some suggestions on how to transition a baby from a bassinet to a baby nest.
- Establish a bedtime. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to establish a consistent bedtime routine. This may include bathing, reading a book and cuddling. Babies thrive on routine and repeating these activities will begin to signal to your child that it is time for bed. Before you transition your baby to a cot, have a bedtime routine in the nursery to help them associate their room with sleep.

- Make the nursery comfortable. For the first year, your baby should sleep on a firm mattress with appropriate sheets and no loose blankets or toys. Just because you can't put comfort items in the cot doesn't mean you can't make an effort to make the nursery itself comfortable for your baby. Try dimming the lights or playing some white noise, and make sure you keep the room at a comfortable temperature.

- Transition gradually. Moving from a bedmate to a cot is a big transition! Many people recommend making the transition more gradual by having your child sleep in a crib for naps or nighttime sleep first. Once they get the hang of sleeping there, you can then add other sleep times.
- Move the cot to your room for now. For some babies, two big changes at a time is just too much! If this is the case, it may be easier to make one change at a time. Consider leaving the cot (if there is space) in the room for a few nights.

- Sleep in the baby's room for a while. For many children, this transition also means sleeping in a different room to mum or dad for the first time. One way to make the transition easier for them is to sleep with them in the nursery for the first few nights. This does not mean getting into a cot (which would violate the weight limits of many cots and put everyone at risk.) Instead, we recommend sleeping on an available sofa, bed or inflatable mattress.

- Use a cosleeping baby bed. Even if they are developmentally or size-wise ready to transition to a cot, a cot is a lot of space for many babies! Using a crib like the DORA MOMOKO can help them feel comfortable and snug in their new bed. If you are transitioning your baby to a cot because they have started to roll over, then you will want to transition from that as well. To help children still feel safe, we recommend using a newborn lounger like the DORA MOMOKO.

Sharing a room is a special time between parents and their new baby, but moving into the next stage of life is exciting too! Transferring your baby from the bassinet to the baby nest sleeper may take some adjustment (for everyone!) ), but the change is ultimately the best for your family.
